Guernsey Tomorrow - Phase Two Update

PHASE two of the Guernsey Tomorrow initiative will be rolled out in the next few weeks.

The Guernsey Tomorrow initiative allows people to have a say about the strategy that will guide the way in which the island develops and changes in the future.

Phase one saw 13 workshops take place and more than 600 people were involved in all, with a cross-section of the community of young and old, male and female. We asked people to think about the main challenges and opportunities facing the island. The results are available through the ‘About Guernsey Tomorrow' Link.

Now we have an idea of the main issues, challenges and opportunities that are of most interest to people, phase two will ask them to come up with some ideas and options about how we can use the space we have on the island to address their concerns.

We will evaluate the various options in the light of the emerging economic, environmental and social objectives of the States. That will be published in a consultation document, hopefully later this year.

A preferred strategy will be presented in a States Report for the States to make the final decision.
