Key Stages

Stage 1:

We’ve gathered together lots of interesting information about the island and how it is changing. This portrait of Guernsey is our baseline. Our baseline study is a ‘living document’ – it is being continually updated.

We would like to know if there is any important evidence that we may have overlooked.

Stage 2:

Based on the evidence available, we began to focus on the key issues, challenges and opportunities that the island is facing. You can see our Issues Papers in the ‘Downloads’ section.

Through a series of meetings and drop-in sessions we have been asking people to let us know which issues are of most concern and whether there are any important issues that we may have overlooked. Click on ‘Events’ to see what we found.

Stage 3

Now we have a better idea of the main issues, challenges and opportunities that are of most interest to everyone, we are asking you to help us generate some options for the future direction of the island.

Green Paper

Once we have had a chance to fully evaluate all of the options we will present the findings in a discussion document (or Green Paper) with some proposals for consideration by the States.

You can see that this is a very ambitious programme with a lot going on at different stages, so when it seems to go quiet, it doesn’t mean that things aren’t happening.
