Environmental Groups
On 15th January 2009, a meeting was hosted by ‘Guernsey Climate Action Network’ and ‘Living Streets’ at the Emma Ferbrache Room of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. The meeting was attended by 57 people.
For the ‘Sticky Dots’ exercise, lists of key issues were displayed under the themes of Business, Community and Social, Functional and Environmental. Everyone was invited to study the lists and add any issues that were missing. For each theme, they used sticky dots to identify the top 4 issues that they felt were the most important. Please click on Business, Community and Social, Functional and Environmental to see the results of the ‘Sticky Dots’ exercise.
In six groups, the participants used post-it notes to individually jot down the best things about being in Guernsey (The Good), the worst things (that cannot be changed) about being in Guernsey (The Bad) and the things that most spoil the island and they would like to change (The Ugly). Based on the results from the ‘Sticky Dots’ exercise, each group was given a set of 16 blue cards representing the highest scoring issues from the Business theme and the Community and Social theme together with a set of 16 green cards representing the highest scoring issues from the Functional and Environmental themes. It should be noted that, unfortunately, the additional issue of ‘preventing traffic growth’ was inadvertently omitted from the exercise. Each group then selected their top 8 cards from the blue set and their top 8 from the green set. You can see the results from the Top Trumps trading exercise by clicking here.
